SINDUPALCHOWK, OCTOBER 13: The slogan “We will rise again” has been limited to the t-shirt and the walls of Kathmandu. Even after 18 months after the earthquake, nothing has been done yet in order to rise from the rumbles of 25 April, 2015. Sindupalchowk, one of the hardest hit district by the earthquake was on the same state that it was in 2015. The people there are still living in the temporary shelter and there are no sign of people rebuilding the houses. When asked to Nanu Roka – the resident of Sindupalchowk, “The government has provided with 50 thousand rupees but our village is prone to landslide as the hills above are cracked and we do not know where to build our shelter.” The confusion is not only limited to her and it is of the whole Nepal. The victims do not know where they can rebuilt as the government deployed engineers has not arrived yet. Upesh Karki residing at Tatopani VDC of Sindupalchowks states “The government aid is of Rupees 3 lakh and that is not enough to build a house and we do not know what to do. I wanted to build my own house but there are rumors that we will not be provided with the government aid if we build the house of own design.” There has been confusion regarding the aid that the government has announced and has been providing. Another resident Kanchi Maya Tamang states her aggression, “I am an earthquake victim and I have all the documents ready but my name was not in the final list hence I have not received any money when all my neighbours have received. I have contacted the VDC but they asked me to go to DDC and when I went there they have asked me to bring at least 7 people that had seen my house fallen. I will not accept the grant with so much hurdles,” she added.
