DWIT continued their trend to bring experts to share their experience with students. This time Pratik Joshi, Principal Software QA Engineer at Deerwalk Inc was called to share his experience, application procedure in Finnish universities and a little bit about Finland.

Usually this event takes place on Thursdays but due to the hall being occupied by Deerwalk employees the event was postponed for Friday. There were two events which needed to be completed within one and half hour. Even in little time he was able to tell the things he wanted to tell. When he started to talk the hall was full of laughter. He had a very good sense of humor. He was voluble and funny at times.

He shared his experience about his life in Finland. He said, “Due to the difference in language and culture it might be difficult to adapt in Finland”. When people adapt to the life style, they will certainly enjoy living there. According to him, Finland is very suitable for the programmers. Most of the people in Finland are involved in programming and technical aspects. Most of the games like Angry Birds, Hill Climbing, etc. were built by Finnish companies. He said that the students who are studying in the University of Finland focus on gaining knowledge rather than the grades. Nokia, which used to be the leading cell phone manufacturer used to be the pride of Finland. In general, at least a person from every household used to work for Nokia. Since, Microsoft has taken over most of the shares of Nokia, many of them are losing their jobs.

Finland is very good for women to stay as women right is very strong there. According to him hospitals of Finland are one of the best places to give birth. The facilities given to them is very best.

Overall, the event was quite informative in a humorous way. He shared his experiences with the students and most of them were enjoying the session.
