The Sports Club has announced the official football team of DWIT. The 18 member football team will now represent DWIT in all kinds of inter-college football tournaments. The squad comprises of well talented players selected on the basis of the 11-A side football game.

On 22^nd February, 2015, 'The Sports Club' organized an 11-A side football game which was held at Hattigauda on TIA school's ground. Everybody was welcomed with a sense that all the students should get a chance to participate in that game where 25 students showed up. The game ran nearly 3 hours, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The students were divided into two teams, junior team and senior team. The junior team comprised of students from batch 2017 & 2018 whereas senior team comprised of students from batch 2016 & 2015.

As the game commenced, the junior team dominated. However, they couldn’t continue with the same flow as the game hit half-time mark. In the course, senior team took the lead. But, the game ended dramatically where both teams netted 5 times. Based on the performance, the final team was selected.

The team consists of two goalkeepers, six defenders, six midfielders and four forwards. The members of the final team are: Goal Keepers: -Anish Thakuri & Prayush Shrestha Defenders: -Shankar Koirala, Sayal Vaidya, Prasiddha Khadka, Sanjeev Budha, Gaurab Thapa & Sushant Gurung Midfielders: -Prabin Rai, Bimal Thapa, Pratik Budathoki, Anil Lama, Dipesh Bhandari & Sushant Chitrakar Forwards: - Muskan Lamsal, Suman Thapa, Sumit Shrestha & Sushant Shrestha

There is a great expectation from this squad. Under the captaincy of Shankar Koirala, the team looks well balanced. According to the captain Koirala, the whole team will work together to produce effective results. He wants to create and foster team spirit and unity. Being a captain, he also promises to carry out the responsibility bestowed upon him. Likewise, all of the team members are overwhelmed with joy and responsibility.

Midfielder Prabin Rai expressd his delight, “I consider this as a great opportunity to sharpen my skills which I was unable to do in my intermediate and school life. I'll do my best for the team." Defender Sanjeev Budha said, “It has always been my aspiration to play football and being selected in college team is a dream comes true.” Sumit Shrestha, the Sports Club president added, "The club has come a long way in a short period of time. Sports club will provide further training for the team members and make them capable of winning trophies in the near future."

This is just an initiation of a great dream. Entire college has a huge expectation from the football team. There is a huge responsibility and challenge for the whole team. Will the team be able to render as expected? We will see in upcoming days. Hope their determination, their hard work, their dedication bring the college tons of trophies in the future.
