Life As A Prisoner

By Shreeya Pandey

I am a prisoner, I am a prisoner Surrounded by bars, like a caged animal, The joy of my life, being so much nominal. All I get is dishonor and disgrace, Feeling ashamed to even expose my face.   I am a prisoner, I am a prisoner For the crime that I committed with so much of ease, My life has been ceased, Only if I had been witty enough, Life wouldn’t have been rough and tough.   I am a prisoner, I am a prisoner Admonishing myself every day for the crime I did That has completely closed the lid The lid of my future that would lead me to my aim Oh! I have lost my reputation and name.   I am a prisoner, I am a prisoner Depending upon the goods provided by the jailer My life has been a complete failure Feeling nostalgic about my happy days of life All I have now is strife.
