Hike to Phulchowki

By Rachana Banjade

The Phulchowki hike was a sacred retreat from the hustle and bustle of our busy student lives. I got the chance to go for a one day hike organized by the DWIT Hiking Club. I was eagerly waiting for that exciting moment to come. The night before hike was somehow sleepless. The plethora of thoughts ran in my mind. How will tomorrow's hike be? What will be the place like? In a shiny morning, everyone was present in Deerwalk premises. We set out for our journey from DWIT College heading towards Godawari where we had our snacks at a hotel. The weather was freezing cold. Alacrity was surrounded in everyone’s face. We started our hike from Godawari. Everything seemed so beautiful and to go for a hike early morning with beautiful sunshine was a cheerful moment for all the hikers. Everything seemed so beautiful and to go for a hike early morning with beautiful sunshine was a cheerful moment for all the hikers. Besides walking we also took some snaps and enjoyed the pleasant weather. Though the hike was pretty tiring, the enjoyment didn't make the tiredness creep into our mind. After the hike of nearly five hours, we reached our destination Phulchowki. We were able to reach the famous place at an altitude of 2700m. The cold weather in Phulchowki was amusing. The view from the Phulchowki was really awesome. We had our snacks and were back to Godawari from the same way. I was extremely tired at the time of returning back but I enjoyed the journey a lot with my friends. Finally, we had our dinner at Sinamangal and everybody devoured the food. After the dinner, everybody returned back to their respective homes. This was only my second hike from DWIT and I enjoyed a lot with my friends. It was a splendid chance to be familiar with Deerwalk culture. The hike helped me get closer to my friends and also helped me make new ones. This hike organized by Deerwalk was very fruitful and unforgettable and I hope Hiking Club keeps organizing such wonderful hikes in the upcoming days.
