Gates of Peace

By Arjun Dahal

These corpses are waiting for their graves. And somewhere are their families, Waiting for their return. These wounded are seeking for medical, Hours gone with insomnia, With a diminished hope left. The leaders are lured by the symphony of bullets, Yet, they are forbidden to fear. Bombs flying, irrespective of lives, Scorched earth, dwelling in sight, Civilization perished for the greed of few, Race to the finish, who's got the weapon new? The supremacy of power won't heal the heart, Not even the electrifying speeches gonna heal. Youths die for the nation, Unaware of the game of olds. We don't wanna perish like the rest, Have mercy Lord! Take us to the gates of peace.   Take us to the gates of peace, Where everyone is in revelry, And the hatred is gone. Where everyone lives in brotherhood, With vanished military detention. Where bloodshed has ended up, And the civilians singing in tranquility. Where people lives in facile freedom, Stepping up for their dreams. Everyone is tired of wars, Peace, the only thing they vow, Only thing, they wanna know, Our kids wanna go school, Let their dreams come true.
