Former Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress Sushil Koirala died early in the Tuesday morning, at around 12:50 am. Koirala was suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease which led him to death at the age of 77 years. Few days ago when some party colleagues asked him to rest and not to get involved in party activities, he replied by saying that he would involve himself to politics till his last breath. Yet he never knew that his death was this close.

His unexpected demise has traumatized congress leaders and local Nepali people. All the formal activities and the ongoing election process of Nepali Congress has been postponed for now.
