First Parents Meeting [Batch of 2019]

On 7th January 2016, parents meet up of freshman students i.e. Batch 2019 was conducted.  This was the first time when parents of freshman students were invited and oriented inside the college premises. Expected number of participants for this meeting was around 35.

The event started from around 3:00 p.m. where the parents were first served with tea and biscuits for starters. The formal program was then started from around 3:30 p.m. with the welcome presentation of Mr. Surendra Adhikari, Campus Chief.  He commenced his speech by wishing all the parents Happy New Year. His speech focused on the overall campus and its activities description. After the conclusion of his speech, Co-Editors In Chief (Nikita Gautam and Ashmita Kunwar) of dwitnews.com presented about the college news site and also sited proposal for advertisement placement in their site if parents were interested in placing their business advertisement banners.

The program was then followed by the presentation of Mr. Bijaya Kumar Shrestha, Academic Coordinator DWIT, who shared academic aspects and its overall influence on students. He also explained about day to day academic activities including of timing of semesters, class timetables, board examinations, scholarships and others. His presentation focused on how DWIT's academic activities are conducted, how students are benefited and others.  Finally Mr. Hitesh Karki, Chief Academic Officer gave his short speech, which mainly focused on academics. He also highlighted on the fact how students would receive opportunities to learn, explore new things and create new ideas. He talked about various learning opportunities, equal importance attached to both academic and extra curricular activities and all round development of students.

Parents were overwhelmed by all the overall details presented by the college. They were happy to meet and explore how much the college administration have been monitoring and guiding their children. They also strongly stated that college should continue with this trend of conducting parents meeting in coming days as well.

Thus the program was ended around 5:45 p.m. and was followed with some some refreshments provided by the college canteen.
