ESPORTS CARNIVAL 2015, the biggest e-gaming tournament in Nepal, started from 27th August in Civil Mall. It was hosted by “ngamersclub” in partnership with many reputed companies like Colors Mobile, Lasermaxx, Sony, MSI and more. “We are here to provide all our competitors a perfect gaming experience conducted in a professional vibe and atmosphere. We are here with an objective of promoting all the gamers of Nepal,” the organizers announced.

There are four games in the tournament, FIFA 1 vs 1, FIFA 2 vs 2 and DOTA 2 and ASPHALT 8, but DOTA 2 was the main focus. The stage was beautifully set on the 2nd floor of civil mall; it truly feels like being a professional gamer when you’re on that stage. There are 20 PC’s in total, 10 on each side where 2 matches were being played at the same time. Fifty-four teams participated in the tournament, i.e. 270 players attended the event. It was a truly massive event and it has set the standard for the e-sports community in Nepal. The prize pool is also massive as the winning team took NRs. 60,000 while the second place team took NRs. 30,000 and the third place team bagged NRs. 10,000. Also, all the participating players received a free ticket to play a session of Lasermaxx game. Truly an awesome deal, as it’s a win-win situation from every angle.

event Apart from DOTA 2, FIFA also had a fair share of players. It had even more participating teams than DOTA 2 and the games were  conducted on the 1st floor. There were 5 PlayStations, each housed 2 chairs where players competed against each other. The winner received NRs. 50,000, the runner-up bagged NRs. 20,000 and the third walked away with NRs. 10,000.  Asphalt 8 is a mobile game and both the 1st place and 2nd place won a Colors phone for winning the event. The Esports Carnival 2015 is a stepping-stone for the Nepalese e-sports community. The stage had been set, the expectation was high and the motivation factor for the event was huge. It will still take a lot to catch up with the rest of the world, but, there is a reason to believe we can make it. Go gamers!!
