At the End of the Day

By Bidish Acharya

Every Wednesday evening, as I hold my laptop and walk inside the couch room of DWIT, I experience the best moment, wonder why? Because I’m submitting myself to the best bonding team ever created at DWIT. Well, ladies and gentlemen, today marks the 25th edition of dwitnews.com. 25 weeks  might have passed in a blink of an eye for you, but well, it was a long journey for me. I waited and waited for this day to come and it’s finally here and I’m utmost happy right now. I can’t wait to celebrate. We have a wonderful working team. Every week, we meet with  full enthusiasm of working harder and making the site better. Needless to say, we put some ‘real’ effort to publish the site with interesting and happening news of DWIT and sometimes, more than just DWIT. When the first edition of the website was published on March 3, 2014, we were just at the stage of infancy. Seeking more and exploring more, learning from mistakes and overcoming our fear to showcase our writings in front of a huge audience, we grew as a team. As weeks passed by, it was no more a tough job; everybody loved to write and share. Slowly, we were not just a report-covering team; we started getting creative which made the news content more and more interesting every week. However, the journey was not as easy as it might seem to you; we had to go through some tough times. After just 5 editions, the team was shuffled. Some crucial members were taken out while some new aspiring individuals found their way into the club. The whole organization was changed, which made it difficult for us to be organized for some weeks, but slowly, we got over it and started to give the best we’ve got. No wonder, we’ve been so successful a club. Being a part of this team gives me utmost happiness, but at times, I get disappointed to see people clearly neglecting all our hard work and efforts that we put into the website. Let me put this clear, we don’t write articles every week just because it’s something we are meant to do, we want to provide our audience with new information and we want to share our writings with you. We love to challenge ourselves with a larger audience, but as it seems, we haven’t got much  of an audience at all. You might say, why bother reading news and articles, right? I ask, why not? I don’t want to give a clichéd argument saying that this is a rapidly changing world and we should be up to date to whatever that is happening around us or anything like that. I just want to share one thing and I suppose it is well-understood by you all. We are just students, who, in spite of our uber-busy academics, take our time out to deliver to you interesting and mesmerizing articles every week. We haven’t missed out on one edition, and I’m telling you, it’s not because we are compelled to do so, we are doing it to provide you with something, hoping that you would read the articles and we can really be successful in entertaining our audience. When all is said and done, I just want to say that we have always, and always will love to bring ourselves in front of you every week. 25 weeks have passed, and we look forward for more lasting and successful journey with you. At the end of the day, love from our audience does matter! :)
