DON’T KP OLI ME

Prime Minister KP Oli has fooled the Nepalese people for eight solid months with his bellicose quips and wild plans. Since KP Oli’s accession to the throne of Singha Durbar people have been listening to his bizarre utterances and the latest being - Nepal to operate its own ship in the Indian and Pacific Ocean. With all that musing heard, people have lost faith and hope on his government to do something for the earthquake victims. The only thing his government has been able to achieve is to put a smile on the faces of the victims through his humorous and over ambitious speech and provide content to the different troll pages operating in social media.

When Nepal has not been able to handle the national flag carrier airline Nepal Airline Corporation and lead it into profit then operating flag carrier ship in the ocean isn’t a walk in the park. It’s not as easy as appointing minister and adding them to the cabinet. Owning ships and operating them requires lots of plans and studies and it’s not like going to the function and blabbering nonsense and inequitable talk. Even if this plan is materialized then no doubt that it would be another hub for the politicians and their kith and kin to be rich overnight.

It’s not all the shilly-shallying that we want to hear but the work that we want to see. What we want is the resettling of earthquake victims who have been staying under tarpaulin for more than a year. What we need is a dead serious commitment to stop the thousands of youth flying to gulf countries to sweat on blood every day, create a situation where youths do not waste time hearing your nuisance in a hope to be employed. Above all, we need a true representative in Singha Durbar who values sovereignty and nationality more than the political and self-vested interest.

PM Oli next time when I plan something big, let my friends not tell, “Don’t KP Oli me.”
