With back to back success of movie screening sessions, Documentary Movie and Dramatics Club conducted Open Screening Session Five on June 6. The club screened three short movies - Master Plan, Existence and Naad by filmmaker Rupesh Ghimire. The event saw participation from around thirty audiences, engrossed in the movie while munching on popcorn. Documentary Movie and Dramatics Club has been hosting Open Screening session for the past several weeks now. Every week the club presents different and interesting short movies and documentaries directed by a different Nepali filmmaker. In each session, the audiences also get to interact with the director and learn something new about film-making and documentary-making. Mr. Ghimire through his movies portrayed the art of poetry. He used poetry to depict the story instead of plots, like in the other regular movies. Due to the uniqueness in his movies, it sparked a lot of curiosity among the audience about his style and even the story. Mr. Ghimire shared with the audience that cinema is more than just the storytelling and plots, it is also about the art.

“Rupesh Ghimire's short movies showed us a different side of the cinema. It's not always about the story telling. Sometimes it's simply about the exploring the art,” says Jubin Kc, member of Documentary Club.

The interaction session was followed by another screening of a movie by DWIT student named HUSK. The story of the movie was written by Umang Gurung' and was skillfully animated by Albin Lamichhane ’20. This session was also as interesting and informative as all the other sessions.
