Colosseum

By Arjun Dahal

I am a schooled fighter, Contracted to my master. Spear and gladius incites my name, Gladiator! you thrive my name.   You visualize my blow of dragger and scutum, Till my foe goes numb. May be a human, may be a beast, Sacramento and mortal combat, I sacrifice myself to your jest.   You echo for death, Nowhere a life in my fate. Colosseum, my home and my grave, a enemy, condemned by your hate.   Every moves of mine, mocks your Caesar, Slave to you, gifted by war. I avenge my death to watch the dawn, You marginalize and segregate thence the days to come.   Game of death, I'm obliged to play, Brutally sworn and bound to slay. I vandalize myself for enlightenment, Mine freedom and your entertainment. Arjun Dahal is undergrad studying Physics at Tri-Chandra Campus, Tribhuwan University. His works have appeared in Blue Marble Review and Burningword Literary Journal.
