Chabahil, also called the heart of Kathmandu, has been in darkness for almost 3 weeks. One of the reason is of course load shedding but load shedding also occurs in scheduled time. People of chabahil in particular have not been able to operate day to day activities in normal ways because they barely get to encounter electricity. The main reason is short circuit near chabahil stupa. The wire that supplies electricity was damaged 3 weeks ago. Since then there has only been electricity  for 4-5 hours a day, which too is provided from midnight to 4 am in the morning.

Life was getting a little bit easier when the line was repaired by the electricity authority, but the situation again got worse when same accident happened again. Last Tuesday evening, the short circuit was one more time encountered. There were sparks of electricity floating around and wires caught fire that led to the damage of wires. The electricity was again caught off. The problem is not timely addressed and in spite of being one of the busiest area in Kathmandu, people living in chabahil area are still suffering because of short circuit which occurs time and again.
