Threats of Bomb Blast in Various Schools In Kathmandu

Major threats of bombs and other explosives in various schools have caused a mass panic in the valley on Tuesday morning, 20th September, 2016. Bombs have gone off at four schools in the Capital while explosive and suspicious objects have been recovered from many other schools.

Kathmandu police chief, SP Bikram Singh Thapa informed the media that cylinder bombs exploded at Akash Deep Boarding School and Manakamana Higher Secondary School in Dakshindhoka of Gokarneshwor Municipality, Kathmandu, at around 3:45 this morning and another bomb went off at Kanchanjunga Integrated English School in Dallu.

Suspicious items have also been recovered from various schools in Gokarneshwor Municipality. The objects were recovered from Rai English School, Mount Yubaral Teaching Academy and East Pole School in Narayanthan, Jorpati.

Two of the terrorists linked to the explosions have reportedly been arrested so far. Also, the posters of the Akhil Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh were found in the attacked areas. The bomb disposal Units of the Nepal army have been deployed in all the reported places.

So far, there has been no reports of any injuries sustained by the people on site although we might have to wait for official confirmation from the authorities on that matter. Due to the ongoing investigation, police has not divulged any information about the incidents as of yet.
