On 25th April 2020, DWIT NEWS organized its very first live interactive session in the time of despair. The very goal of this session was to share useful information and to answer the questions of the audiences by the respective guest. The topic of the session was “Corona and Its Effects in Nepal”. The guest of the session was Prof. Dr. Pradeep Vaidya.

Brief Introduction of the guest:
Prf. Dr. Vaidya is the professor of surgery at Tribhuvan University and also the chairman of disaster management. You can know more about him here.

Why did we invite him?
We all know in this pandemic of the nation, the citizens are devastated. There were so many unanswered questions that people were curious about. We used to see and hear many news and posts related to the pandemic; some verified and some were not. So, DWIT NEWS thought it would be of great help if we could connect people directly with the concerned department to get their answers related to the pandemic. So, we invited our very special guest, Prof. Dr. Pradeep Vaidya.

About the Session:

The session was indeed very informative. We tried to cover the topic as much as possible to inform and better aware the public. We discussed the different posts coming in social media about different remedies and food about curing the pandemic. There was big confusion regarding different tests that were cleared by our guest in such simple words. We had a talk regarding the precautions people should take if the lockdown was loosened. Not only we discussed the precautions and tests, but we also discussed how this deadly pandemic affects the mental health of people. He said that in this hard time we should be supporting each other because we all are in this problem together and we shall come through it if we are united and if we support one another. He was also hopeful and optimistic about the cure of the virus.
The session overall was really informative and the questions asked by the audience were like the cherry on top.
