Creating a professional environment for the students, empowering them to do things they envision, implementing ideas, and working with seniors is what the ideology of DWIT centers around. This is the major reason for the working environment created here at DWIT. The institution believes every student should simultaneously focus on academics and professionalism. Learning and implementing is the key aspect of advancement.

A recently conducted survey shows 67.56 % percent of the total students at DWIT work in real-world projects. Out of which, 4.85 % are doing wonders with their own startups and others either have an internship or are working in freelancing projects. The survey was done among students from sophomore year to the final year. We have not included the students of freshman year as they have recently joined the college. This makes the total ratio of working students to non-working students roughly around 1:2.

The ratio is highest that you will find in any IT colleges around Nepal. Graduates from DWIT will have already received professional exposure before completing their bachelors degree.

Involvement in internships is a well followed tradition now. Students learn from what they realise rather than what they are told to do. The association of company inside the premises, the working environment, the traditional traits of working seniors, the motivation from teachers, and multiple project assignments make students thoughtful and creative. So, the factors driving our students towards professionalism is the self realised urge to be what they see.

Aabiskar Pandey, one of the interns at the Research and Development Unit of DWIT says “When I joined the in-house internship offered by DWIT in the First Semester, I was anxious about maintaining a balance in academic workloads and my internship responsibilities. Now, when I reflect back upon my experience, I feel I made the right choice. It is an amazing experience here getting to learn in a working ambiance alongside seniors who are my mentors as well as my colleagues.”
