WordPress Workshop Receives Warm Reception

On Jan. 7, DWIT Software Club conducted a five-hour WordPress Workshop. Subigya Nepal ’17, the ex-president of DWIT Software Club, facilitated the workshop which saw participation from more than 20 students, especially from Class of 2019 and 2020. The workshop started at 11.00 a.m. and ended at 3.30 p.m. It covered the basics of using WordPress, building a website using WordPress, hosting websites, and different ways of earning money through those websites. The workshop was segregated into two sessions – usingWordPress, and Hosting/Monetizing. The first session started with the basics of installingWordPress and understanding what WordPress is. The facilitator, Subigya Nepal, also briefed the participants about the difference between wordpress.org and wordpress.com, history of WordPress, and the technology used by WordPress. The session continued as Mr. Nepal taught the participants about all the features, techniques, tips and tricks of using WordPress. The participants were amazed by the ease of use of the software and the fantastic results it generated.“WordPress is such a useful software, especially for web enthusiasts. The session covered the topics on registering a domain, hosting a website, and monetizing a website. The session was technical yet informative. Mr. Nepal also shared his five years of experience in blogging and use of WordPress, and highly encouraged the participants to start their own blog. He also acquainted the participants with some well-known and successful bloggers.
