What’s better than to bid goodbye to 2017 with a big celebration? With 2017 finally coming to an end, it’s time to take a moment to look back at the year behind us and step towards the new year with new resolutions. With 2018 knocking at the door, and with the excitement to welcome it, Social Service Club organized a bonfire program on 29 December, Friday. The event was organized for all the students to come together, hang out, get to know each other and spend some quality time with one another. How can any celebration be exciting without an ambiance filled up with rhythms? So, Music Club collaborated with the Social Service Club and organized open mic. The event was scheduled for 4:30 PM but it was not until 5 PM that the students from 2021, 2020 and few students from 2019, as well as some faculty members, started to gather around the fire. Music Club continuously put the effort to keep the music running in spite of small problems. The first on-campus Bonfire event had Batch of 2021 the most excited. The students from 2021 sang Songs. Some were good at it while some tried. The whole atmosphere changed when the tracks were played and everyone started to groove with the music. Finally, right when everyone was tired, exhausted and obviously hungry, the set up for the food was completed and Social Service Club did a pretty good job serving the “Masu Chiura”. It was not perfect but the hunger took over the taste and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. It was then time for the event to conclude. Everyone started to leave and the final pack ups were done. Overall, the event was a success and students really seemed to be eagerly waiting for another such event. Some of the opinions about the bonfire program from some of the students are: “The event was good and I enjoyed it, but there seemed to be far less students than past years. The food was not awesome but was satisfactory. Hope next Bonfire will be even grand and fun.” ~Nischal Badal ‘20   “I was not present last year for the bonfire but I am really glad to be a part of it this year. Dancing with friends and chilling is something that I feel was the best part of this event.” ~Shreeya Pandey ‘19   “The food was awesome, couldn’t stop eating. Music was awesome, really surprised with the singers we have in our campus. A big thanks to Social Service Club for organizing this event.” ~Arika Joshi ‘19   “I really enjoyed singing the song “Syndicate” and dancing with friends in “Lolipop Lagelu” which will always be a memorable moment for me. I really thank all the students and the clubs for making this event happen and making it a success.” ~Aabiskar Pandey ‘21
