Team Trinity Bag The First Prize In Deerthon 2016

Picture Courtesy: DWIT Software Club Two weeks after the successful completion of Deerthon 2016, the result was announced on July 15, 2016. Team Trinity from Trinity International College bagged the first prize while Team No Ones from Madan Bhandari Memorial College were the runner ups. 13732027_1067030720056127_6745411593368958468_o Team Trinity got cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and an 8-week internship opportunity at Deerwalk Services Pvt Ltd. Deerthon 2016 was the first event of its kind, both for DWIT and the event Hackathon itself. Unlike other Hackathons, the 12 participating teams were judged on the technicality of their codes rather than the concept and presentation. The technicality of the code weighed 70% of the total score while presentation weighed 30%. The event which took place in Sagarmatha Hall, DWIT was hosted by Subigya Nepal, President of the Software Club. Dixanta Bahadur Shrestha, CEO of Leapfrog Academy was judging on the technicality and attended the event as a chief guest. Hitesh Karki, Chief Academic Officer, DWIT handed the prizes and certificates to the winning teams. The prize distribution was followed by a ‘Thank You’ speech from Hitesh Karki. “We wanted to do something different. It was the most challenging part of this event. But, we have successfully achieved that.” says Hitesh Karki. Deerthon 2016 was a grand success.
