“Logic will get you from A to Z. Imagination will get you everywhere.” – Albert Einstein

As of now, there are about 8.7 million different species of living beings on the surface of the Earth. Humans are distinctly different and unique than any other species. It’s our ability to think and more importantly our imagination that sets us apart from anything or anyone else. Imagination is what allows you not merely to be, but to see yourself as you are, as you have been and as you could be.  Indeed, everything that exists in this world today exists because someone else imagined it and shared it with the whole world. Think about it, the laptop or mobile screen that you are currently reading this on is the result of innumerable imaginative visions stretching back in time to the caveman or woman who saw a stick or a rock and imagined in it as a tool.

Whenever you are offered a choice of options, it is your imagination that reviews them and decides which to choose. Your imagination lets you see scenarios in your head which helps us pick the best possible situation for ourselves. It might not always work because some people might not be able to rely on imagination like others can. For some people, their imagination runs quietly in the background while for others, it runs full blast, creating ideas, playing with them, destroying them effortlessly and replacing them with new ideas.

Imagination is the strongest during our childhood. It is the society’s creative oddballs who continue to live their lives completely indulged in their imagination, just like children. The Artists, composers, writers, - their entire lives depend upon them constructing bits of worlds in their minds and keeping their imaginations going strong. In “The Road Not Taken”, Robert Frost wrote:

Two roads diverged in a wood,  and I— I took the one less traveled by,  And that has made all the difference.”

However, the truly imaginative people can create roads through the forest trees and find new places which lead to newer imaginations. This is how the world works. The creative and imaginative can visualize roads which don’t even exist and they share those roads with other people. Then, with luck, and engineer will design that road and workers will make it. The road of imagination is what ultimately becomes the road of reality.

When we’ve lived our lives, and look back at all the memorable moments, it is our imagination that reconstructs those memories and when we breathe our last breath, it will be our imagination that fills our soul with the vision that will be our eternity.
