Panchakanya Tej Win the first Everest Premier League
Panchakanya Tej defeated Colors X-Factors by a big margin of 40 runs to lift the first Everest Premier League title on Monday. Sharad Vesawkar’s Tej had made it to the final of Nepal’s domestic Twenty20 championship winning all five league matches. The star of the show was Aasif Sheikh from Panchakanya Tej who scored an unbeaten 111 runs which helped his side post a total of 171 runs in their 20 overs. In reply to a tough target of 172, Colors X-Factors were all out in the 18th over before they managed to put up a score of 131. Gyanendra Malla top scored for Colors X-Factors with 47 while Karan KC took 3 wickets for the Tejs. Former Indian Captain, Ajay Jadeja was here to watch the finals of this tournament. He was really amazed to see the support of Nepali fans towards cricket and said Nepalese Cricket will surely reach higher levels in coming years. Jadeja was also impressed to see the beauty around TU ground and suggested to rather invest in cricketing equipment than in making a new ground. Nepali National Team skipper Paras Khadka also mentioned that this was one tournament he was looking forward to and is really happy with how it has gone. He included that tournaments like these will help to find new talents and expose them, not only nationally but globally. Nepal is living in its Golden era of cricket. From the past decade, we have seen Nepalese Cricket grow to an immense extent.
