After the devastating earthquake on April 25, 2015, various national and international forces are working tirelessly to help Nepal rise again. Nepalese Army Wives Association (NAWA) also conducted an event "Amar Panchhi: Rising from the ashes" on May 14, 2016, for the same cause.

Seven national artists: Rekha Thapa, Priyanka Karki, Reecha Sharma, Nisha Adhikari, Sushma Karki and Indira Joshi along with Bollywood actresses Sonakshi Sinha and Malaika Arora joined hands together to entertain the audience with music and dance and make the event immensely successful. The fund collected is said to be used to build schools for the quake victims.

The Nepali army along with the senior officers turned up at the airport to receive the Bollywood actresses. They were in their uniform to welcome the celebrities on May 13, 2016.  This event grabbed the attention of the Nepali media and went viral on the social sites. In fact, there was a huge amount of criticism towards the entire event "Amar Panchhi".

Rajesh Hamal, one of the most well-known actors of Nepal, wrote: " Nepal Army: The pride of the nation but when I read today's news my pride as a citizen has been shattered. As a humble artist of this nation, I feel humiliated. If they had to receive the artists from abroad they should have done so in plain clothes, not in their uniforms."

Priyanka Karki also posted a status on Facebook in favor of the act of the NA officers and thanked them for providing A-class security.

The Nepal army is well renowned all over the world as brave "Gurkhas". They are known to be one of the toughest and the most skilled army in the world which is a matter of pride for all Nepalese people. In such a difficult era for the country, our dignity is the only thing we can show off with pride. The duty of Nepal army is to save the country and its people whenever called upon. The concerned authority must give high priority for the security of foreign guest; it's not the duty of the NA officers to welcome any celebrities. This is the reason why so many people were disappointed with the event.
