How to Manage Stress In College? : Study and Have fun

By Shila Parajuli

WELCOME TO COLLEGE! Every one of us students come across the “college life”. We have to face a lot of ups and downs. We should try to take every step in college life as a challenge that needs to be handled with fun, not stress and self-torture. College is the beginning of adult life. It is a platform that helps us to succeed in the real world. All we need to know is time management skills along with ways to cope with stress and maximize our college experience. Every college student deserve to enjoy everything about college life- the parties, the chumminess, the fun. We can accomplish this and not sacrifice the real reason why we’re here- for an education. GOAL SETTING Talk to yourself. What are my goals? Do I want to have shinier hair, land that cute guy in my math class, or get grade A in exam? Goals are important for everyone. Why set goals? To get to our destiny. If we know at the beginning where we want to go, we’ll probably get there. Goals can be divided into sub-goals, short-term goals and long-term goals. To know whether we are moving along with our goals we need to make a plan. We need to estimate the amount of time that we think should be spent on various activities. At the end of the day we need to analyze whether we followed the planner we had prepared.  We always need to remember that our planner is our best friend. While making a planner we must schedule enough time in a day for doing fun things. We need to pay attention to how time is being spent. We should not leave assignments and projects until the last minute. We need to make a promise to ourselves "I’LL STOP PROCRASTINATING". Procrastination is a schedule buster. These time management skills will probably help all of us. Good luck guys!
