Malaysian Axiata Acquires Ncell
Ncell, one of the privately owned telecommunications company with more than one crore user in the country has been acquired by the Malaysian based Axiata. Axiata has agreed to attain 80 percent share of the company. The announcement has come after the disputed tax case of Ncell with the government of the country. Axiata is one of the largest telecommunications company in Asia with over 260 million customers in Malaysia, Srilanka, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Pakistan, Indonesia and Singapore. Nepal is now added onto the list. Following the acquisition Ncell has changed its logo and its web address. The company’s by line has become, “Ncell. With you, always” from “Ncell.
