IT4D is an interdisciplinary conference that aims to serve as a forum for researchers, practitioners, policy makers, students and development workers who like to share their experience and knowledge of how the power and capabilities of information technologies (IT) can be harnessed for social equity, democracy, and economic advancement in developing countries like Nepal. This conference is organized by Deerwalk Institute of Technology and is scheduled to take place from July 28 to July 30, 2017 at Hotel Annapurna. The organizing team includes Dr. Gokul Bhandari (Conference chairman), Dr. Rudra Raj Pandey (Organizing chairman), Surendra Nath Adhikari (Conference on-site coordinator) and Hitesh Karki (Conference Director). The theme for this year is “e-learning for development” and the focus areas of this conference include:

• Information Technologies for e-Learning
• Mobile application development for e-Learning
• Content development and customization in e-Learning
• Pedagogical implications of e-Learning
• Economic impact of e-Learning
• Quality assurance in e-Learning
• Theoretical frameworks for e-Learning
• Governance issues in e-Learning

The major way of contributing to this conference is by submitting research articles and case studies for presentation. Apart from these volunteers are also warmly welcomed. The extended abstracts of up to 500 words have to be submitted by April 15, 2017, whereas the final papers need to be submitted by June 15, 2017. The submitted papers should describe the individual’s original work and should not have been published elsewhere or under consideration. It should not exceed a total of 10 pages including all the texts, figures, tables, references and appendices. The papers can be submitted using Easychair account or email at [email protected]. The last day for registration is on July 15, 2017. The registration fee is categorized as USD$300 for foreign delegates and for Nepali delegates, it is further divided into Rs. 8000 for professionals, Rs. 5000 for individuals and Rs. 2000 for students. There is a provision of 10% discount for early registrations until June 15, 2017.
