Why Future and Not the Present?

In our childhood, we never think about such things. We are always eager to play games and have fun but it is not the same as we grow up. Our mind becomes engrossed and occupied by responsibilities. The pressure building around us makes us forget what’s important in our life. We crave for the future where we can ensure our safety, where we can live our life freely as we wish, without being bounded by any responsibility. After going through lots and lots of hardships, having a secured future is what we think is important in our life. But let me ask you one thing, do you know where you will be after 10 years from now? Let’s not go that far, let’s have a discount here. Where do you believe you will be after 4 years? Of course, we can say that we will work as this and that, but we simply won’t have any definite answer. We can of course visualize our future but we don’t know which path we will follow or what future holds for us. We don’t even know whether we will be successful or not in the near future. Even though I have plans of my own, I don’t know where I will be after few years. May be after 10 years, you will find me working as a pastry chef in a bakery shop or working as a lawyer despite having 4 years bachelor course degree in IT. Being an IT student, I know we have to spend our time working on apps and being well versed with new tech discoveries, and have to do a lot of assignments. We have to learn coding and different types of programming languages. I know we have to work hard, but working without enjoying our current self only for the sake of our future is not an appropriate way to grow or head towards our future. Working hard, realizing and enjoying our present self, can automatically open the doors of future where we will be able to blend in our own happiness no matter whatever we will be doing or wherever we will be staying. I know that thinking about our future is very important but we are living our present life for the sake of future. We are running after future so much that we are not enjoying our present life to the fullest. We are working as a bulldozer without a brake and going through a lot of hardships without realizing our present state. If you are not happy with your present self, how can you even think of being happy in the near future? Do what you like, not what will make you live your life luxuriously in the future. Being able to hold your present self and being happy is what matters the most. Enjoying your present day with a smile despite of all those hardships, making lots of friends and having a lot of happy memories is what makes our life worth living!
