The Freshman Year!

By Shila Parajuli

The Freshman Year! I am dilemmatic whether to mention it as my freshman year or term it as something entirely different. Speaking candidly, this is my second year of Bachelors. However, since I am entirely new to DWIT, it sounds more appropriate to call it my freshman year in that context.  :P DWIT is a lot different from my previous college. It is obvious for students like us to ponder and build up a list of anticipations and expectations as we head off into the wonderful world of higher education. Similarly, I too have a list of expectations from DWIT, some of which seem to be coming true as I complete my almost two week time here in the college. Though I’ve completed only two weeks at DWIT, I have been experiencing totally different things. The first thing that I have noticed is the workload. It is heavier and more intense than those I’ve ever experienced before. Not even during my school days was I exposed to such workload. The major challenges here at DWIT are the large volume of assignments, the short deadlines, and the writing, writing, writing. I am trying my best to get used to them and I am sure it will lead me to somewhere worth reaching. However currently, what I probably wish for is the increment in the number of hours in a day, but since it is impossible, I am trying to make the best use of the hours that I do have. “Tomorrow is the first day of what I will become.” I had this thought before my first day at DWIT. DWIT is indeed staircase to my success, my destiny, my faith, my belief, my dream, my ambition, my everything. And I am even grateful that I am staying with good friends from back home. I am bounded by good people here, good friends, good teachers, good environment and everything cool. I often talk to myself saying, “Congratulations Shila! You are at DWIT. You’re embarking a journey sure to be filled with fun, new friends, new experiences, and knowledge beyond your dreams”. I hope for a lot more experiences filled with fun here at DWIT! :D
