Endless Opportunities in Deerwalk
"One of the secret of success in life for a man is to be ready for his opportunity when it comes" - Benjamin Disraeli. There are endless opportunities available in life. One's attitude, tough work and passion determine how he/she grasps that chance. A joint collaboration of Deerwalk Inc. and DWIT has been providing various internship opportunities to students currently studying in DWIT. This has been a bold step taken, whereby unblocking roads to provide an exposure to students to the real world projects and applications. There are currently three students working in Deerwalk Services: Shankhar Koirala, Anil Shrestha and Asim Regmi. One more name now has been added to the list, Subigya Kumar Nepal, a bright and shining student of Deerwalk Batch 2017 . In an interview, Shankar Koirala, who is the first student to get an internship project said, "There isn’t anything called impossible. It is only hard work and passion that matters the most." Students of DWIT consider him to be an inspirational personality. It was his hard work that pulled him to this state. He was selected for Natural language processing project. It is always difficult for a student to cope up with the both studies and real time projects. Deerwalk provided him an opportunity to attend training sessions, where he was introduced to different frameworks that filled the gap between. Then suitable numbers of frameworks were selected, which he then implemented for the next project he worked i.e. Clinical Text Analysis, which lasted for 4-5 months. He was then shifted to Makalu group, where he is currently working on big data processing, for about 3 hours a day. He also added, "Being a student of IT, it is always necessary to explore. In IT, the more you seek for opportunities to work, the more you learn. One should always find ways to engage himself with different kind of works; this might be club activities, self-learning or internship opportunities. Go apply and grasp whatever is put in front of you, else you might regret not doing so." Despite being a well-established software company, Deerwalk has been providing golden wings to the students who are capable of doing something extraordinary. Subigya, who just joined DWIT four months back as a First Semester student, got an internship on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) project. No one would ever imagine that a guy from First Semester would be able to compete with seniors and grab that opportunity. He has consistently shown an extraordinary performance in academics as well as other extra curricular activities and has been praised by his teachers and friends. It can be easily figured out that there are endless opportunities for students belonging to Deerwalk family. Students are not only performing well in their academics but are equally showing a good participation in other activities. "The reasons a lot of people do not recognize opportunity is because it usually goes around wearing overalls looking like hard work." - Thomas A. Edison
