By Nikita Gautam

On 31st July 2016, IT4D, a conference for researchers, practitioners, policy makers, and development workers for experience and knowledge sharing was successfully held at Hotel Annapurna, Durbar Marg. Deerwalk Institute Of Technology was the organizer of the event. This year's theme for the conference was "E-Learning" and a total of 18 different papers were presented during the conference. This was a three-day event; where the first day was allocated for registration followed by the conference and hiking, held on 30th July, 31st July and 1st August 2016 respectively. CRs of all the four batches and some students from DWIT were officially invited for joining the event.

Amongst the paper presentations, two of the major attractions of the event were the experience-sharing session by two students from the Batch of 2015, DWIT and research paper presentation by Mr. Bijaya Shrestha and Mr. Sameer Koirala. Mr. Bijaya Shrestha, an academic officer of DWIT presented his research paper on "Load Capacity Testing of Moodle Server" along with Mr. Sameer Koirala, a senior year student of DWIT who assisted him. This presentation was a major attraction as no other undergraduate student had ever presented a research paper at an international conference and Mr. Sameer was the first student from DWIT to do so. Their presentation was followed by the release of their android application, named "TestYourself". Rain of questions was fired during the QA session for the presenters.

During the end of Session II, Ms. Bhawana Dahal and Mr. Anil Shrestha, from Batch of 2015, DWIT shared their two months of teaching experience in Syangja district. Three students from DWIT, the former two and Mr. Shankar Koirala had visited schools of Syangja district for providing computer education to students as well as teachers. This was an inspiring presentation as they shared about various aspects of their visit. A huge round of applause from the audience followed the presentation. Dr. Rudra Pandey also spoke a few words on this teaching initiative taken by the DWIT, which was appreciated by the audience as well. The conference was thus followed by other presentations and was finally concluded with the certificate distribution.
