Picnic is one of the greatest forms of an open-air entertainment people can find for themselves. Whenever we think about the picnic, we picture ourselves with our friends and family in forest or wood or in a picnic spot having nothing but a merry time. DWIT Picnic was a college event organized by Picnic Organizing Committee 2017 and DWIT Club Presidents. It was held on Feb. 18 and the venue of the picnic was Kakani. We were all sent a participation form a week before the picnic to participate in the event. It was a great time to take a day off from our hectic schedule and enjoy ourselves to the fullest. It was also a great chance to share a closer bond with batch mates, seniors, juniors as well as teachers. The day finally approached with excitement to its fullest. We were all asked to arrive at DWIT premises at 7:30 a.m.. As per the notice, we moved to our venue at around 8:30 from the college and on the way, the bus picked students in the dedicated routes. We reached Kakani around 9:45 a.m. and we were welcomed by a beautiful view of the hills and a delicious breakfast ready to be devoured. DWIT family was having a great time as some were enjoying the lovely view, some were taking pictures and some were just having a good time. After a while, an interesting game, ‘Hula Hoop Tic Tac Toe’ started where almost everyone participated and the winners were gifted with chocolates. Soon after, the game was followed by ‘Drunken Football’ which was pretty exciting as well. Together with snacks, we played Bingo and it was won by Mr. Hitesh Karki. After the delightful snacks, other interesting games like ‘Tug of War’ and ‘Hot Potato-Musical Chair' followed which were enjoyable and fun games. Then after music starting blasting from the speakers and the dance floor was occupied by mostly seniors. The vibe was so exciting and thrilling. At around 3:30 p.m. we had our lunch and then everybody joined the dance floor again. With a smile on every faces and body swinging along with music, the picnic finally came to an end. We departed from Kakani at around 5:00 p.m. The journey back to college was lively as we all danced and sang at the top of our lungs. DWIT Picnic was a success as I know it filled our hearts with laughter and memories. I’m sure everybody is grateful to the picnic organizing team and the club presidents for such a refreshing and cheerful day. It’ll always be a day to remember, a day to cherish!
