DWIT Music Club organized a lively and very soothing event, the Open Mic Session on May 23. After a full day of studying and assignments, all you wish is to relax. And what better way to relax than with a couple of amazing songs sung by equally amazing and talented people. The Open Mic Session helped everyone relax and gave them a much-needed break. The event started at around 4.30 p.m. with just a few people, mostly from Class of 2020 but as the club continued its performance, the crowd started getting bigger and bigger. Students and even the people from Deerwalk Services joined the crowd. The icing on the cake was that not only did the event create a lively environment, it also provided an opportunity to people to display their talents. Being an open mic event, there was much active participation from the crowd. The songs sung by the members of the club were so amazing and entrancing that it had already brightened everyone’s mood. The interesting part was that the people who came forward from the crowd were equally pleasant to listen to.
"I was glad to see people participating; that was the essence of the program. It was fun to perform there and see people performing. I would love to do some more programs like this, if we keep getting the same support," says Pallavi Ghimire '20, member of DWIT Music Club.
If some of you did miss this event, there is nothing to worry about because another equally entertaining event Raw Rhythms is around the corner. The Raw Rhythms is an anticipated event organized by Music Club, a platform to show your singing talents along with enjoying all the amazing music. The only difference between Open Mic and Raw Rhythms is the participant in the latter event gets to practice and even train for the event. So be prepared for the upcoming and happening event -- Raw Rhythms.
