The Software Club has taken a new approach called “DeerCoders” with a motive of enhancing the students’ programming skills by encouraging them to use their creativity in solving complex programming problems. It is a common platform which aims to pull out the fear factor regarding coding present within the students.
In the first session, which was conducted on last Wednesday, there were altogether 7 participants from all batches, 2015/16/17, coding in ‘C’ language to solve a common problem. The participants, Asmit Ojha, Suraj Regmi, Nikita Gautam, Rishav Mani Bhurtel, Sandesh Sharma, Sarthak Khanal and Arun Amatya, were given a simple mathematical problem and were asked to use their logic to solve it through programming in C. One of the participants, Suraj shared his experience by quoting “At first, it was a little intimidating going into the coding competition along with the seniors, but indeed, it was a lot of fun. I also realized how difficult it is to solve a problem within a restricted time frame. However, it was a pleasant experience”.
