Buzz Aldrin Visits Nepal

Buzz Aldrin, born in 1930, January 20, is an American engineer and astronaut. He is the second man to set foot on the Moon at 03:15:16 on July 21, 1969, following mission commander Neil Armstrong. It is an honor to announce that American Astronaut Buzz Aldrin arrived in Kathmandu for a five-day trip to Nepal. According to The Himalayan Times, he will be accompanied by his son Andrew, his daughter-in-law Maurine Aldrin, Buzz Aldrin Inc's Mission Control Director Christina Korp, the Lockheed Martin Payload Manager Joseph Leblanc and the Orion Configuration Management Specialist Elizabeth Leblanc. american-astronaut-buzz -aldrin Everest Science Center, a charitable trust registered under the government of Nepal, played a vital role for Aldrin’s visit. The Science Center was established with the mission to provide scientific knowledge with the help of easy-to-understand demonstrations, and present science as recreation to the public. Aldrin was humble enough to accept their proposal. Aldrin’s visit is planned for five days. According to Everest Science Center website, the following is the planned schedule for his 5-day visit.

  • Day 1 (4th September): Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu.
  • Day 3 (6th September): Presentation program at Everest Science Center Nepal from 1 pm to 3:30     pm.
  • Day 5 (8th September): Presentation program at the Academy Hall, Kathmandu from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
  • Day 6 (9th September): Departure to the USA.
