Valentine's Day is the day for celebration of love. Love is a questions that has remained unanswered. The word "Love" is confusing, fuzzy but yet powerful. As, Valentine's day is the day to express love, different clubs in DWIT have been organizing events to make the Valentine's week more memorable and heartwarming. We feel love and feel loved but, at times it goes unexpressed.
“Unexpressed emotion will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways.” Sigmund Freud
Most of the people tend to deny their feelings and emotions with the fear of losing their loved ones. The suppressed emotions can steal our joy and vitality. So, in the spirit of Valentine's, Deerwalk Literature Society (DLS) came up with "50 Words for Love." It has provided an open opportunity for everyone to express their feelings. Students can confess anything about love, for the ones that they love and everything that comes to their mind when they hear the word "Love." Prakriti S. Tuladhar' 18, President, Deerwalk Literature Society says, "Love and literature both needs to be expressed. When people feel, they write. When they read, they feel. That's what we wanted." This event commenced on Feb. 6. All the confessions about love have been published together on the official Facebook page of the Deerwalk Literature Society. The winner of this event will be announced on Feb. 17. According to Deerwalk Literature Society, the winner will be decided 40% by the Facebook likes and 60% by the DLS jury.
"We have got 14 replies. Every participant expressed love in different ways. Some feel love in brother's smile and some in parents care as well as some feel love in friendship. This beautiful diversity in meaning of love was all we were trying to show," Nischal Badal '19, organizing member, Deerwalk Literarture Society
50 Words for Love organized by DLS has provided the best platform for the students to express their emotions and feelings without any fear. If you don't unpack your baggage of feelings you may eventually self destruct. This is the real challenge and a great opportunity to grasp in order to express yourself.
