We Wish To See You Again Hilary!

History never really says goodbye. History says, ‘See you later.’ - Eduardo Galeano Ms. Hillary Towle, faculty of English, returned to the US last Saturday. A farewell program was organized on 10th June, Friday by the Music Club in collaboration with the other clubs for Ms. Hilary Towle. Even though attendance was not mandatory, many students attended the event to bid her farewell.

The program was hosted by Dipesh Poudel ’17 and it started at 10:40 A.M. The program started with a slide show displaying pictures of Ms. Hillay. The presentation was accompanied by a poem recitation by Barsha Dahal ’17. The presentation was followed by a couple of musical performances by the music club. Umang Gurung ’17 sang “Fast Car” by Tracy Chapman with Suyog Shrestha ’19 on the guitar. Anmol Shrestha ’17 sang a self-composed song dedicated to Ms. Hillary. The musical performances made the event exciting. Then, Ms. Hillary was showered with gifts. The Artistas gifted a beautifully designed postcard filled with pictures and messages for Ms. Hilary. Prabina Neupane ’16 presented Ms. Hillary with a scrapbook containing messages written by the students. Nikita Gautam ’17 personally gifted a sketch of Ms. Hilary which was very beautiful. Then, Mr. Bijaya Shrestha, academic officer, handed over a “Token of Appreciation” on behalf of the Deerwalk family. Hitesh Karki, chief academic officer, delivered a short thank you speech for Ms. Hilary, admiring her pursuit of her dreams and wishing her best for her future.

Ms. Hilary also shared a few words which was emotional and touchy. Everyone wished her the best for her future and safe journey. I also want to personally thank her for her creative and productive classes and her exciting teaching activities. Finally, the event ended at 11:10 A.M. with a huge round of applause for Ms. Hilary hoping to see her later.
